Like an idiot, I didnt check the gate valve to see if it was open when I started the pump for my ETSS 600. So it busted a seal on the back of the box. Question is, how do I re-seal it?
use a marine quality two-part epoxy. You can get it at any hardware store. Most of the time, they will even list water pressure specs. the higher the better of course, but I suspect there isn't much pressure at the seams.
I would go with Weld-On 16 too. Epoxies and glues don't generally bond well to acrylic, they may work initially but will likely fail in time. Weld-On does just that, it chemically welds the acrylic together and 16 is thickened with dissolved acrylic to cover and fill in gaps. If the seam separated cleanly you could use Weld-On 3 or 4 with an applicator (this stuff is water thin and will wick into the seam) and re-clamp the seam but if it's not a perfectly clean break you are probably better off with the 16 which will also reinforce the seam.
Weld-On 16 will be less effective than an epoxy if there is no exposed joint. If the joint is exposed, a cement like 16 can be used to bond the parts together, otherwise, it is best to cover the seam with epoxy.
The important thing to look for is specifications for marine use with pressure specs.
