Another major component in keeping one successfully is not to let your salinity fluctuate to much. Invertebrates are very sensitive to changes in salinity.
If you are not careful you will poison your tank. This comes up quite often here and you an search around and find both sides of the arguement. Most of us do not add iodine to our tanks and our shrimp are just fine and molt regularly. Cleaner shrimp, peppermints, blood reds etc only live 2-3 years anyway.
