How To Store/Thaw Fresh Shrimp?

I have a new BTA and have read that its good to feed them a small piece of fresh shrimp once or twice a week. My questions are...

-Do you freeze the shrimp?

-How do you cut a piece off and thaw it if frozen?

Newb to fresh food here...feed frozen cubes mainly.

Thanks,

I usually freeze them whole, then when needed take one out and slice it to the required thickness (with a good heavy knife) and defrost under cold running tap water.

Thanks. How long does it usually take for the piece to thaw completely? Seems like it could take awhile.

You can definitely freeze them i usually got to the fish market get one shrimp one oyster one scallop one strip of fresh salmon cut it all up and freeze it then its all mixed and i cut a small portion up and thaw it with water from my tank and add

Shrimp defrosts really fast, especially the small pieces you would feed an anemone-- 2 minutes soaking in tank water would do it.
