As the heading states i have a Blue cheek Goby that i need to remove from my reef tank, it is chucking sand all over my corals all day long, i do have a FOWLR tank that i can put him in, but the problem is i can not catch it, i have tried using a bottle trap and aqua medic fish trap but he wont go in either, any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.

Try not feeding for a cpl days and then , using the fish trap, should work, be patient.... I had every fish swim In the trap before, and the last one to do it was the one I was hoping to catch... Patients

Thanks for the response, i already tried this approach, i can catch every fish in the tank but not the Blue Cheek Goby, i even buried the bottom of the trap with sand, he wont go near it.

I've read that turning on all the lights in the tank after fish have gone to sleep works pretty good. It takes them a few minutes to adjust to the light. Kind of light headlights to a deer.
You have a few minutes or so. Good luck

How big is your tank? You might want to try the "High & Dry" method in this link if your tank is fairly small.

HTH.

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately this is not an option for me as my tank is a corner tank and its 80cm deep with a live rock wall bottom to nearly the top on 2 sides, blue cheek has a hole under a big piece of rock and an escape route at the rear if i drain the tank down he will just go to the back of the cliff face and there is no access to the rear, thanks for the reply and the link it is appreciated.
Best Regards
