How to treat Brook in California?

It appears that my fasle clown has Brook (white slime, leisons, gasping, not eating). I have read that the proper treatment is formaline but that this is NOT avail in California? Is this true? The fish is in a QT tank now and I was going to do FW dip but read that may not be enough. Is there any other treament or is he doomed??:

Formalin should be available in California as it is used for many other things except healing fish.
