How to whiten old coral?

Hello all,
I have a nice large piece of old dead coral....my bride wants to make it a center piece on our cabinet...

How can i make it completely white...I have put it in water and bleach and there is still brown on the inner stems....

Any way to rid it of all the brown>

try a more powerful bleach perhaps... then let it sit in the sun, or even maybe spray paint it white ?

i did this with a small piece of acro that died...i bleached it left it in the sun and then put vinegar in it right after the bleaching...its nice and pretty now!
