Just wanted to take this opportunity to say hello to everyone. I've been cruising these forums for a while and am in the process of starting up my first salty tank (75g). Been cycling it for about 2 weeks now as a matter of fact and I'm pretty excited to see where it takes me over the course of the next few months. Hopefully not to the poor house or the crazy house, haha. Also I wasn't aware there was a club for this kind of hobby in the area (which I am also fairly new to, transplanted here from the west coast less than a year ago) but I'm interested to know a little about it if anyone has the time or inclination to tell me or direct me on where to go. Have a great day folks :)

Welcome aboard. The club is a great organization and the members are often willing to offer their time and effort to help others out, paid members or not. There were a rew stores that also offered a small discount to paid members. I've been away for about 2 years, but that's the way it was back then. There are also a number of resources available to paid members that can make life easier. In the grand scheme of things, the fee for membership is small and I plan to resign when I get back into the state.

Meetings are held monthly, IIRC, and the CRASE is comming up. Check out the threads on it and see if you want to go. It will be a good chance to meet a bunch of members and see some cool stuff in the process.

A few people will open their frag tanks for a fair price when you're ready for coral. I know I spent a good bit of cash with a few people and got some very nice corals for it before I moved.

Hey that sounds pretty awesome. I was looking at the crase threads and site, but I work Saturdays, so won't be able to attend unfortunately :( Where does one find info on the club, meeting times, and dues and all that?
Thanks,
Sean
