The Sam method.
- buy two bangaiis from your LFS
- get lucky and have them pair up
- feed them like pigs with the rest of your fish
- notice the male with a mouth full of eggs
- ignore the whole deal
- ignore your tank other than feedings for a month or so
- finally clean your tank and do a water change
- notice two 1/2" perfect babies in the giant mess of chaeto in your sump
Okay, did you follow all of that?
The coolest thing about these two is that to get to the chaeto, they had to go over a corner overflow, through a strainer, down three feet of 2" PVC drain pipe, and through a divider into the chaeto section. Where they were feeding on wildlife and leftover food I guess, I never feed my sump.
My wife scooped them up for her nano. Hopefully I'll start to get babies on a regular basis. But I'm still not going to be doing that raising specific foods nonsense. I like my method better.
