Hoya Filters

Hello everyone,

My wife just bought me this Hoya Filter CIR-Polarizing to put on my lens, she said it is a good filter to take pictures outside and since I am going to Cuba in 1 week she tought it would be a great filter to have.

My question is this; There is if I read well a top and bottom to this filter and I can see a white line on the side of the filter, how do you know wich side is the right side?

Hope this makes sense to you all!

Thanks

A circular polarizer rotates to adjust the polarizing effect, there is no top or bottom. Many will include an index mark so that you can get a rough idea where the filter is adjusted for the purpose of moving the camera between portrait and landscape compositions.

Don't just screw the filter on and be done with it. Check it's effect by adjusting it whenever you change your composition.

Cheers

Fun things to do with a circular polarizer...among many others

- top down shots of your tank (removes light reflection)
- shooting through glass windows (removes reflections)
- shooting outdoors (makes deeper blue skies)
