Humidity Problems

How do those of you that have large tanks deal with the high humidity levels in your "Aquarium" Room?

My family room gets feeling humid sometimes, but usually it isn't much of an issue. Our windows are double glaze but I have some french doors that are single, and occasionally they get some condensation on them in really cold weather.

There are some ways to deal with outside air exchange using a heat exchanger so that you get fresh air at nearly the same temperature as the air from the house. But I don't know much about how well they work or cost.

dont really have much of an issue.. I know it gets heavy from time to time, but usually more this time of year when its dry and cold.. my evaporation is crzy.. gota be going somewhere.. lol

If it became a real issue, you could always invest in a dehumidifier for that room, or for a cheap solution look into "damp-rid". My fiancee loves this stuff because its cheap and the humidity really bothers her asthma..

If your air conditioning unit is up to date and in good working order it will pull out the humidity without a problem. With 2 125 gallon tanks running the humidity in my living room never got above 50%

We have two 350 Gal tanks and the Humidity is at 78%. Thought about using a Dehumidifier that ties in to the A/C system

my tank evaporates around 2.5 gals/day. tank in living room near window/electronics. no humidity problems so far.

Like Aquaman said, your A/C should take care of it.

This time of the year though, it can get to be a problem.

Since the temperatures are not over 78 (temperature setpoint where I keep it in the cooling cycle) for long, my AC rarely runs now, and I have had humidity over 85% in the house. In those instances, I have been forced to lower the temperature setpoint, to lower the humidity.

Evaporation of about 1-2 gallons/per day , but really no humidity problems on my 210. I have a ceiling fan over the tank at a slight directional angle, maybe it disperses the humidity? I have never had any moisture on my walls, and there are no windows in the livingroom I have it in. Closest thing to a window would be my front door sidepanels that are about 30-35 feet away from the tank itself. Actually I like the fact that it may produce SOME humidity. Think of it as you now don't have to buy a humidifier for dry air that may make your nose or skin dry and itchy. LOL.
