hi everyone. well i am on the hunt for a mostly green colored bodied fish. i have a few ideas but can only find a couple to choose. like the exquisite wrasse. any other suggestions on a good green fish? it needs to be 6-7inches or less and reef safe, or at least a good chance of being reef safe. any ideas??

one of those green little gobys, forgot its name, same a yellow clown goby just green with pink lines on its head!

hang on, ill go find its name out for ya!

Klunzinger's Wrasse

Green Bird Wrasse

Lunare Wrasse

well, from that little search i reckon green must be the least common colour on marine fish hey! how wicked would a bright green tang be!! maybe il have to paint half a yellow tang make it a green and gold Aussia tang!!!

good luck finding a fish mate.

ada,

lol, i am looking into the green clown gobies but i hear they nip/eat acopora coral polyps. anyone know anything about this?

humm painting a tang, thats not a bad idea. so do you think i would need to prime him first or perhaps just a couple coats.

yeah i never though a green fish would be a challange to find but to my supprise there are rew and far between, at least ones that "reefsafe".

hey i like that seegrass wrasse. but from what little research i did on them they eat inverts. i know nothing about these guys. have you had any experience with them voltekker???

I would avoid the Lunare wrasse if you want to have anything like hermit crabs or cleaner shrimp. I had one for a while, and he was a great fish, extremely hardy...but he turned my cleaner shrimp into parts in nothing flat. Most of the hermit crabs I tried to add got sucked out of their shell before they hit the substrate. Fascinating to watch, in twisted sort of way. I traded him in to the LFS.

ada,

The sea grass wrasse is hit or miss with inverts. I had one but then my dad but a fish with out telling me they didnt match and the wrasse jumped. From what i understand any inverts in the tank already like shrimp should be ok as long as they are in the tank before the wrasse gets in there. Id also try to get him small, mine came kinda big.

i was am about to buy the exquisite. how was your as far as aggressiveness goes?

Well I had one for about a week...a very friendly fish...Sadly my Lubbucks wrasse didn't like it and tormented it to death. my LFS has gotten in a few lately and they have been amazing color...and they all seem pretty friendly not bothering anything...IMO they are one of the more peaceful wrasses...

Pastel Green Wrasse Halichoeres chloropterus

7.4" max length good w/ soft and stony corals.
Might be worth a closer look.

wolf eel lol. i would be scared one day it would eat me. i caught one in alaska. that thing was huge and one mean mother. it almost ate my friends boot right off him.

going to have to more into the seagrass and pastel wrasses. i like both those. i am crabless for cleaner crew so rely on snails mostly. did any of you guys have issues with either of these going after snails?

It didnt pick on my bigger snails but i did have stomatela in my tanks that make babies. It would pick at them once and then swim away. The babies
