Hydor feedback please?

I would like to hear about peoples experiences with the Hydor flow attatchment in 12g AquaPod nano tanks. I plan to replace the stock flow adapter.

I've got one in a 24g. It's a wonderful little attachment. It will diffuse your flow a little bit. Had you upgraded the stock pump?

I upgraded the stock pump to a maxijet 900....runs much cooler and the flow went from 160gph to 230gph. Does your Hydor blow sand all over the place? I actually tried on of those new Tunze 6025 Nanostrams, but it turned the tank into a snow globe!

I have one in my 24 gal. I upped the stock pump in the sump, and added a MaxiJet 600 with a Hydror on the opposite side- I have tons of flow.

I did get some sand movement, but after a week it stabilized.

does the hydor rotate 360 for water displacement? or is it just a short span? I heard that it kicks up water on the splash guard.

njreefgrl_2182: That is fantastic! It never even occored to me to keep the locline and put the Hydor on one of the arms. Did the Hydor pop right on, or were there some mods involved? Also...do you have any problems with water splashing all over the light cover? Thanks.

My AP12 is open top with 70w hqi sunpod so I couldn't tell you about the splashing the lights. Some others might be able to help you with that. No mods to get it to fit the locline I just used one of the connectors that the hydor comes with and was able to fit it with no problem.

njreefgrl_2182: I just got done checking out your photo gallery...WOW. Did all those pics come from your 12g nano? If so...how do you do it??? My nano has been up for 9mos and look like a wasteland compared to your tank. Please let me know what your water params are....ad how you keep them there.

Sorry the pics in my gallery are from when I had my 75g setup. I be moving within the next year so I took down the tank and sold everything. I got the itch and figured the AP12 wouldn't be so hard to move. Here's a pic of my tank.
