Hydor KORALIA 4

I tried mine on a red sea pro wavemaker and everytime it started back up they rattled quite a bit at first. Too much noise for me and I was concerned it might damage the motor from constantly stopping and starting. I have heard some controllers might work which dim the current where the impeller slows and cranks back up instead of off and on but I don't know. If you find one or hear of one I would be interested as well.

Thanks for the reply. That is the exact wavemaker i have. I emailed Hydor and here is the reply i received:

Hello Doug,

Thanks for contacting us with your question. We have not tested the Koralia's with any wave controller. I have read lots of threads where people are using the Koralia with a controller. I can tell you that they will rattle on startup if turned on and off rapidly. To this point, we recognize the need for a wave controller, so we are working on a controller and possibly new pumps to provide these results. I do not have any date as to availability at this time.

I also can not tell you what possible damage may result from using a wave maker with the Koralia. You might want to check the reef forums to see what results others are having.

Thanks again for your question,

I will keep you posted if i find anything else out

Thanks again
