its good. If it survives a computer watercooling loop (high backpressure/temp) it will do fine in an aquarium. I have had mine for about 2 years now running 24/7 keeping my linux servers' processor cool. It's not very loud either. I normally use eheims for that, but I was pleasently surprised with the hydor.
