I have the 24g AP and saw that some of you have the hydor deflecter on there....was it able to just slip right on without any mods?

Is it a benifit to the tank?
Is it worth the money?

thanks

for like $10 you can't go wrong. i like mine on my finnex tank. i believe it'll fit right onto the aquapod, but wait for someone else to respond to be sure

It comes with some different size adapters I'm sure one will work on the AP. It does create some nice random flow, but one thing to keep in mind it does robb some flow from the output.

I have two inroute for my 50g. Some mods will be needed for mine, but, they are cheap seem to work good in my friends tank.

One of the adapters works on the Aquapod. However, some of my astrea snails can get behind it and pop it off. To solve this, I put on 2 drops of gel superglueand it sticks just fine. Plus, the glue is strong enough to hold it on, but weak enough that I can pull it off if need be.

thanks for all the info...i am still running the stock pump. (i know, i know) but have a mj 1200 that is just sitting here from one of my old tanks. Im just worried about having too much flow with it. I have a bubble coral and alot of lps so i dont want it being hammered with flow

I use one on the tank side of my sump return and works well, but starts to bind after awhile.
When that happens just take it off and soak it in vinegar for a couple of days then slap it back on.

you may want to upgrade to a maxi jet 1200 because they will cut the flow quite a bit. I have one in my 6 gallon jbj cube with a maxi jet 600 and its perfect.

thats what i was thinking about doing...thanks for all the information! I know i probably sound cheap cause its only $13 bucks but i like to spend my cash wisely!!! (Guess im in the wrong hobby huh!!!)

Thanks again
Randall

I have one on my MJ 1200 in my 29 gal mantis tank and my frogspawn likes the flow. The only down side is the hydor's size but it is cheap, works well, and is easy to service. To snug fit mine I just used regular teflon pipe tape. It stays on and is easy to pull off.

I gave mine a "shave" I took that black plastic lip that forms the back of the hydro off, Makes them look alot smaller, and found no downsides. Other than snails can get on there a litter easier, but it never stopped them before :)
