hydriods

Anyone have any luck with the epoxying over of hydroids? I tried the kalk-paste but it didn't work. I hate to kill the rick, it's a 50lb piece and has nice looking yellow sponges and a large piece of blue ridge encrusted on it.

Any ideas on eradication?

Thanks
Jennifer

It has worked for me but I took the rock out of the tank, scraped and took a dremel to the area, rinsed, covered the area in epoxy then stuck it back in the tank. Not sure how well it works if you just try to epoxy them in the tank.

In case you couldn't tell I was very frustrated with them!

As am I. I would do the dremel thing, but i'm trying not to kill the sponges, and am afraid they would be out of the water too long.

Stupid hydroids......looked like happy little tube worms at first....now.. :( make me want to boil the whole tank. I've even thought about a Panacur bomb, but that pretty much means no more snails ever. Stupid hydroids

It's a 2 person job, but may want to try one person scraping the rock with a flathead screwdriver while the other holds a drain hose close. Don't want the little buggers floating around.
