Hydroids

OK any ideas what this is?

It has 10 tenticle bases with filaments from each base and is free swimming.

I pulled about 100 out of my fuge last night and put them in another tank to grow some so I can see what they are.

Anytime I find something odd it goes into a small tank that I set to the side to grow things out. I love SW as you never know what will show up in tanks, its an entire microcosm to itself. FW was never this cool.

That looks like a jellyfish ! Those are cool to have .

If you do have hydroids , you might wanna find a keyhole limpet . I was surprised to find one in my tank last night . He was next to a colony of hydroids . This morning when I got up the limpet was where the hydroids USED to be ! I have alot of hydroids myself so I was happy to see I had a hydroid predator in there .

AHHHH! I have what he has! they are free swimming like jelly fish and will attach to the glass and rocks and just sit there until night time. I wish I had a camera, I was searching forums to see what the heck these were. But they definately look like jelly fish! When you find out what these are let me know please :)

I did, I only found pic of it in the sesile stage and not the free swimming state. Either way I am growing some up and someone on another board told me they have the exact same thing in their tank.

I totally 100% agree with you Telgian;

Here is my latest pic of it;
