Hypo.. what else does it iraddicate?

This is used for Ich and similar parasites to Ich. Other than that.. it doesn't eradicate much else. Are you looking at a specific disease that you are dealing with or just trying to figure out preventative measures?

I had an ich outbreak a month ago. I removed all the fish and did TTM...that was completed over a month ago and they have been in observation in the QT since..

I just switched the QT from a 29G to a 40G a few days ago. Suddenly, my regal angel and purple tang are twitching and scratching all the time. I don't really see any white spots so I'm uncertain if the TTM failed and I still have ich, or if its flukes, or something else.

Like I said, I dont see any evidence of ich or flukes, other than the heavy breathing, scratching and head twitching... Anyway, I just started hypo .. hope this will be 100%.. I'm unsure if TTM was 100%.

Tank transfer method in my opinion should be used as a secondary option on top of a primary course of action for treatment. Because there is a cycle where these parasites attach, detach, reproduce and reattach it is hard to get them all at the right stages. Plus you may not be able to see them on the fish but they may be deep embedded in the fishes gills. I recommend looking here for another treatment option. Copper is really difficult as there is a very small therapeautic window that is safe for the fish but also effective against the parasite. Copper also cannot be used on angel fish and should only be used in QT tank. Keep in mind live rock and ceramic decorations absorb copper which makes it less effective. There are a few other treatments you can try that may work better in the sense that it is less harsh on the fish. I love this website as it has a lot of detailed information on treating fish disease and preventing disease. They also sell most of the medications they talk about on this website which makes it really easy to read up on it and purchase rather than jump from site to site looking for them. Definitely recommend keeping an arsenal of these medications so that when disease does come about, you will be more than prepared. http://www.americanaquariumproducts.com/Aquarium_Ich.html

Another consideration for copper, if you ever plan to use it.. you will need an accurate test kit that is easy to read because of that small therapeutic window so a copper Hanna checker you can buy directly from the Hanna checker website would be the best option for testing.

TTM should be the primary option. It's being proven to work if done properly. Way safer than hypo and cooper. If you are unable to do TTM, hypo would be the next best thing, IMO. There are some strains of ich that hypo will no work on.
