hyposalinity questions

so, i don't have a QT and i have a 75 gallon fowlr setup. my blue tang has ich (because I added four green chromis after almost a year without purchasing new fish) i didn't want to use any medications, so i decided to go with hyposalinity.

question is, is it okay to do it in my main tank with all my fishes there? will it be effective if i have all my fishes in the tank where i'm doing the hyposalinity "therapy" i'm planning on doing it for 6 to 8 weeks. and i'm on my first week.

tank now has SG 1.009 (taken with a refractometer), everything else within normal limits. pH is on the low side though. 7.8

again, my question is, will hyposalinity be effective if i'm doing it in my main tank with all my fishes in the same tank 'coz i don't have a quarantine tank? again, i'm trying to treat ich.

If you do hypo in the dt it probably will kill the goodies you have in the sand and live rock and cause poor water quality.

you need to determine whether its ich or odinium. Hyposalinity works on ich but does not work on odinium. If its odinium you will have to treat with chemicals. Odinium looks like your fish is covered in salt.
