I am having a heck of a time trying to figure out my new ac Jr. I am able to get my probes working its the timer thing. Is there a trick or a step I am not getting. I can't seem to figure out how to assign a power outlet to to the specific timer and get it to trigger that pump or light? And lastly how can I test the the system to see that right plugs are triggering the right device?

The 1st thing I always suggest it to look at the default program; it works much of the time without change.

Some helpful tips:

* Timers create a link betweek (X10) address and name (3 letters)
* Program uses the names to turn things on and off.
* Once programmed you can use 'manual control' (there is a menu) and turn things on and off to see if the correct thing is working.

Tools: On my website is an AC3 simulator; you can enter your program and watch it run. The simulator runs at 1 second == 1 minute so you can see things in time lapse. It allows you to change things like temp, ORP and PH and see what the program would do in response.

Ask questions; be more specific; the more information you can give the better the answers.

Where I am having issues is with the dc8. I have the first two switches off giving me an "a" control letter. And also outputs 1-8. I have done all my programing lights on lights off pump on pump off but nothing is working by the time schedule and I can't even get my pumps to turn on. There must be something I am missing its like I can only get a few of the outputs working and when they are the schedule isn't turning anything on or off.

Just to be sure; all 4 switches are OFF; correct? Are you sure they are OFF and not ON, you can test using Manual Control menu and if that doesn't work flip all the switches the other way and see it that makes a difference.

Other things to check; there is an LED on the DC8; it should flash on occasion; the flash means that it is properly decoding X10 control signals. If the LED is not flashing check your control wire; it MUST be a 4-wire (or 6) phone connection; 2 wire will not work.

Once you get manual control working then program control will work.

I have confirmed that all my switches are up and I get no response with manual control I also tried the reverse. I do have a steady green light on my dc8 no "blink" & my control is a 4 "wire" cord.

Here is my current setup and programing maybe there is something here

Timers:
If time 8:30 then Lt1 on
If time 21:30 then Lt1 off
If time 9:00 then lt3 on
If time 23:00 then lt3off
If time 9:30 then lt2 on
If time 22:00 then lt2off
If time 8:00 pm1 on
If time 20:00 pm1 off
All devices are on an "a" category 1-8

Any thoughts?

What timers do you have? If manual control doesn't work then something is wrong. The program shouldn't even be looked at until you get the manual control working.

Try a different phone cord; that is the easiest thing to try.

Are we talking about the same thing. If I go main menu / control-status / manual control. When get there I see all my assigned outlets and I have the option for on/off/auto. I assume if i change to off then exit out to the beginning then select run my lights should go off. But they don't. Am I doing something wrong?

Just tried a new phone cord no luck. But I do see the small "m" on my LCD which makes me think that the controller is working but the signal isn't getting to the dc8.

bump- did you ever get this resolved?

I am having the same exact issues right now with my DC8; I cant seem to get the controller to communicate with the DC8. I have a steady green LED at all times and when I change or add any value the light doesn't flash at all. I've triedd multiple phone cords and nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

bump, hello? Dopes anybody from Neptune's even offer help in this forum? I am experiencing the same problems outlined in this thread and didnt think it was necessary to start a new thread on the subject. Any help and or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
