I got a killer deal on an Apex

So, I was on fb a couple of days ago and noticed that the Corner Reef had a used Apex for sale from a tank breakdown that they did. It was 2 months old, had a lab grade pH probe (still wet) and a Neptune probe holder. They were asking $400. I sent them a quick PM asking if they would take $350 cash and I would pick it up that day. When they responded yes, I called them, gave a credit number to hold it, and started driving that way.

I paid when I got there and in looking for the bag with the probes, they noticed that there were four probes in it. The owner said that he thought that two of them went to something else and, when he figured it out, he would mail me a packing label to ship the non-Apex probes back to him. I insisted on just figuring it out there. Upon closer inspection, we noticed that the apex had been upgraded with a PM2 module, salinity probe, and extra pH probe (those were the extras in the bag). The owner's statement to me: "You just got a major bonus."

I promised to come back soon for some livestock purchases so that he could make his money back on me.

So, any must haves for the Apex? I'm thinking I'll eventually add a breakout box for sump levels and a couple leak sensors.

More Energy Bars.
DOS pumps are very nice. Very wide range of flow, can be used for anything from dosing to water changes. And they can run in reverse.
The Ice Cap control module if you have a Gyre.
More Energy Bars.

I like the looks of the DOS, but wish they were a bit cheaper. I'll probably eventually get one though.

definitely the break out box. Having level switches in my sump is awesome. It tells me when I forget to refill my ato bucket. It also lets me know if my return pump stopped working.

Definitely get a breakout box you can do anything with it. I have emergency float switches and push buttons to initiate feed as well as a door sensor to turn on a light in the cab when I open it.
I also have a couple eb8s that you'll always be using...even turning your Christmas tree light on when your ph dips at night haha.

What these guys said. a break out box is an essential along with at least one extra EB 8

I just bought a wireless adapter for it since it will be hard to run Ethernet cable to it. I will definitely be picking up a breakout box for some float switches and an EB8 as I run out of room in the other.
