Have fun, i just got the same camera with a Tamron 18-50mm f/2.8 and a Sigma 105mm f/2.8 Macro and am slowly discovering that i still can't take a good pic!! LOL

Erbio, I'm shopping for a macro lens also for my D70S Nikon I saw a demo of the 60mm 2.8 and it was very impressive. What I realized is that I don't know how to use my camera yet, is more of why my current lens'es aren't performing as they are capable of. I have a sigma 28-105 f2.8 -4.0 and a 70-300 f4-f5.8 super macro and I'm not happy with either so far but once again it is most likely me not the lens'es. I'm signing up for a class to learn for the second time in my life about aperture and f stops and shutter speeds.

I tried reading them what the hell are they talking about LOL I guess m engineering training is confusing me. Let me know what you decide I'll be watching.

Hi killagoby.... I have a D80 and also use a Sigma 105mm and really like it. If you are going to go with a Nikkor lens then make sure you shell out the extra money for a VR version. I recently bought the 80-300mm Nikkor (I think) with VR and its very impressive. Good luck and happy shooting.

hunkafish, I took that picture with the highest ISO speed available.

Its hard to explain exactly what I did to take the picture.

Just know that when you're taking pictures of your tank, you'll need to change the white balance for every picture.

Switch the left dial to "P" then go into the menu and do some experimenting.

Auto works great if you're outside but not for indoors.

Another thing that will get you some clear pictures is to use a tripod - I got one for taking tank pictures however the picture I took yesterday wasn't taken with the tripod - I help my breath haha...

The fast shutter speed helps when taking pictures of fish and corals...
