Hi everyone. I have a Ocellaris clownfish that isn't doing so great. I set this tank up about 2 months ago. It is a 60gallon cube with a Eshopps rs-75 sump for roughly 65-70gallons of total water volume. Sand is mostly argonite, with some Carib-Sea live sand thrown on top. As for rock, it is a mix of dry base rock, Carib-Sea life rock and actual live rock from my LFS. The only inhabitants of the tank right now are a pair of ocellaris that I got from the LFS at the same time. One of them is doing great, swimming all over, eating like a pig, etc. etc. The other guy, well.....
Here are the questions that are asked in the sticky. I will give some more details after.
1. How old is this aquarium?
A: 2 months
2. If less than six months old, what is ammonia level?
A: Zero
3. What is SG of this aquarium? How measured?
A: 1.024 using a refractometer
4. When was the last fish added to this aquarium?
A: 2.5 weeks ago (only 2 things in the aquarium)
5. Was it quarantined? If so, how? And how long? Was it prophylactically treated? How?
A:No, stupidly I trusted the advice of my LFS and didn't quarantine or treat with anything
6. If you are using a copper based medication, which one? How often do you measure level? When?
A:Nope
7. If you are using hyposalinity, how did you calibrate your refractometer?
A: Not using hyposalinity, but refractometer states it came calibrated, and I checked using RO/DI water
8. Please describe in detail, the appearance of the fish? If there is one or more pimples, are they lumpy? What color?
A:Looks to be a little translucent I guess? There are some black spots on the top of his head and almost looks like he is starving :sad2:
9. Please describe the behavior of the fish as best you can. Is it acting reclusive? Is it always up towards the top of the aquarium? Is it avoiding light? How active is the fish?
A: Staying on the bottom of the tank mostly. Doesn't swim up to the front of the tank to say hello as he had been doing. When on the bottom of the tank he seems to be either hiding behind some rocks, which seems to be because of lower flow, or he stays directly inline with a powerhead, but below it, so as to not be blown around by it. He is not nearly as active as he has been in the past. He is breathing rapidly, although he has been since I got him from the LFS. Just within the past 24 hours it looks like his gills are somewhat flared out.
10. Is the fish eating? What?
A: Eating has dropped off drastically in the past 3 days. Before he was eating, not too much, but still some. Have been feeding them NLS Thera A+ 1mm pellets. Almost looked too big for him, so we have been alternating between full pellets and crushing them. Also about once to twice weekly we have been feeding Piscine Energitcs (PE) Mysis shrimp.
Water Prameters
Ammonia=0
Nitrate=0
Phosphate=0-0.25 (I have trouble with the colors)
Alkalinity= ~7.5 (I know its a little low, currently in the process of using soda ash to bring up)
Salinity= 1.024
pH= 8-8.2 depending on the time of day
Temp=77-78
Treatments already tried:
Freshwater dip. I bought a 10g tank and cleaned it out, filled with RO/DI water, airstones. Made sure that the temp and pH matched with the DT as best as I could. Put him in, and he sat on the bottom on his side as you would expect, but only for about 10 seconds. The rest of the 8 minutes he was in there he was swimming all over the tank.
Tank Info
Skimmer: Reef octopus 150sss
Powerheads: 2xmp10 running in reefcrest during the day and lagoon at night.

Since I have had him those black dots have been there, and not moved, increased or decreased. I am at a loss as what to do. I want to do what I can for this little guy, but I have already spent more on trying to help him than it cost to get him. Any advice you could give would be much appreciated. Thanks, FluffyHotcakes
