I have a suicidal shrimp

yes, that's right-my cleaner shrimp is suicidal. He cannot keep away from my Bulb anemone. He keeps messing with it, one leg on, pulling back, two legs on, trying to grab a tentacle, he cannot leave it alone. My clownfish are ready to have a stroke with this guy, and I think I'm going to come home to a missing shrimp eventually.
He harrasses this poor anemone until it pulls itself in! I think he may be stressing it out, and that is unacceptable in my house!

Right this minute he is stalking the anemone, waiting for the clowns to leave-then he rushes right in and lays hands on it. It's pretty wacky. What a neurotic little fellow!

Besides putting a harness on him and tethering him to the opposite side of the tank-do I need to remove him?

if he wants to play with fire, he is going it get burnt!!. I had one about 15 years ago and he died the same way but with a carpet anemone. I think there should be a Darwin award for dumb shrimp lol.

It's sad really-he's such a personable little fellow. Neurotic enough to be hilarious. When I put my hand in the tank, he rushes over and tries to clean me! Cleans the snails, cleans the hermits, and picks at the rocks too. Now, there's this "thing" that he cannot clean and it's like watching Felix Unger chase Oscar Madison around. Pestering and stalking.

Maybe when I get another tank up and running I'll let him have the tank anemone free so he can clean whatever he wants.

Somehow I keep wishing the dude was big enough to push a vacuum.

mine does the same thing, i think as long as he is not ripping at the tentacles he should be fine. I actually just had an "accident" with mt RBTA and the shrimp is hanging on the powerhead staring at her ( for the last 3 hours)psychos.........
