Just got this beautiful pair of Onyx Clowns last night. Not as much black as some I have seen but Im taking LFS word for it. New to saltwater, 3months. Seems that they have taken to a koralia power head right away, any way to keep them from hosting to it?? (I heard they have been known to do this) Attached a pic but kind of blurry.

They can and will host whatever they want. Did the LFS say they were wild caught or tank raised? I wouldnt call them Onyx, but it could take time for the coloration to come in.

She said they were wild caught. The female is about two inches and the male is just over an inch. Will their color change much at this point or are the pobably gonna stay this color? And for now they have settled on a little rock on the sand bed. They are amazing to watch.

I think their color is going to stay the same. It's a pretty pair of True Perc's but definately not Onyx, sorry...

I kind of figured as much, but just fell in love at the LFS. The females stripe pattern is very pretty i like that it doesn't connect.

You never know for sure, but with a goo diet, and a lot of light they could gain black, but usually the black would already be prevalent...
They are very nice looking, and if your happy that's all that matters!

You have a beautiful pair either way. I have added spirulina enriched brine shrimp to my feedings and my WC percs have really added a lot of black. Its kind of hard to tell what they will look like, but a good diet really helps.
