but they wont open... i noticed that on a few peices of LR i transfered from my refuge into my display tank that there are about 6-8 mounted zoos per rock but what can i do to help them feel comfortable enough to open up and express there true colors? the soft talking and slow music hasn't worked yet ;)

LMAO... its been about a week and i have no experence with Zoos so i have no idea what to expect... from what i have seen in more established tanks the zoos appear to be pretty much full grown :D should i be feeding or do they have a symbiotic relationship with another form of life in which i dont have in my system?

Music and soft talking don't work on girls, why would it work on zoas? Try giving it some jewelry and chocolates.

All honesty, mode lighting is the way to go....
they're probably blinded by the difference in light between sump and display.

Nope...usually light is all they need. Low to moderate flow....Keep an eye out for zoo eating nudis, zoo eating snails, and fungus....those are the 3 things that can eliminate zoos.

give them time... they should open up so long as they have some flow and light...

lmao...HAHahahha... ok this is getting worse... i knew i most likely wasn't the only sarcastic person on RC... well i normally just pick the girls up in the honda... lambo doors and a killer motor package and paint job normally do most of the work... but i dont know if thats going to cut it here...

If you don't have the "killer" sound system, you're only 2nd rate!!!!

Zoas will "drop the panties" w/ a killer sound system!!!!

(* panic starting to set in) i have 2 snails...not sure the type but they are fairly large...umm.. about the size of a quarter each... 1 sally light foot crab... and about 4 small snails that look like those black slugs in a shell...i know that my descriptions most likely are not helping at all but i might as well toss em out there..

zoo eating snails are usually very small, bout the size of your pinky nail, they sometimes have a swirl design, called a sundial snail

hahaha...im just wondering do you know that from personal experence or are you just assuming? HAHahahha now this is not your run of the mill HONDA HUMOR now is it...

well here is the issue... about i think 3 weeks before i transfered everything into the 100gal from the 60 i found a zoa in my tank that was un-mounted... i thought it was a baby anemone... so i put him in a small hole on a peice of LR and dropped a little sand around him. he would close when i touched him so i wasn't too sure what he was... (keep in mind this is before i have had any idea what a zoa was) well he was in what hole for about 3 days then mysteriously vanished... i thought it was the coral banded shrimp or one of the others that snagged him... so im just wondering, since i banished the coral banded to the refuge, i dont have to worry about him... and i have seen cleaners around zoos... should i worry about the peppermint?

cool then... lights... flow... no nudis, snails, fungus... im good to go... i will post here for a progress report :)

If still nothing after a few more days, try a fresh water dip. Swish the rock around and see what small things IE: (snails, nudi's) fall off.
