I lost a clown!

Hey Everyone,

It's another sad day.

I woke up this morning and I noticed I was missing a clown (I only have 2 clowns in my tank so it was quite apparent). He was there last night at 11 when I went to bed, he ate really well yesterday and has not even shown the slightest sign of being in trouble, in fact I thought his brother (they're still really small) would be the one to go cause he doesnt eat as much. I've had them for a month, they are tank raised false percs.

The tank has been up since first of January and the params have been stable for a while, here are my params as of right now.

Temp: 79F
Salinity: 1.026
pH: 7.8
Ammonia: 0
Nitrites: < 0.1
Nitrates: < 2.5
Phospahtes < 0.25
Alk: 110 ppm
Ca: 440 ppm

The only difference is that the pH has gone down from the normal 7.9 over the past 4 days.

I checked all around the tank and I dont think he jumped, I also cant find a body in the tank so I'll assume my hermits and snails have dealth with him. Its my first real loss (unless you count the xenia that crashed the other day) and I'm devestated.

RIP Charles

sorry for your loss all your parametrs seem good enough to where they wouldn't kill a fish but i would try to get the nitrite down to 0 and the phosphates to 0 also or your corals woun't make it very long.

i agree the cleanup crew disposed of the body as it wouldn't take very long
