I love my wrasse!! (with pics and question)

Hi,

I have had this guy for about 8 months and I thought I would share my love. He preforms precision rolls and maneuvers, and just plain entertains everyone.

I do have a question. Are there any other wrasses that would be compatible or am I going to have a one wrasse tank?

awesome fish and he doesn't look aggressive . i dont really have an ID on him so i can't say but there are tons of wrasses that should be compatible IMO . because of the size of his mouth he looks like a "picker " as in he eats small pods and usually that type of wrasse has been very compatible with others .
just my opinion based on his looks but not 100% sure ~

+ 1 to the above post but ill wait for a pro to break it down... but do you have a scientific name of some sort that would be helpful..

Lemon Meringue Wrasse perhaps? i think i read somewhere that the sci name is Halichoeres chrysus

i looked in a couple of books and have one more to look through but its loaned out so i guess i will have to go repo it .
the mouth is completely wrong for a green coris wrasse IMO ,and its got the facial markings which green coris wrasses dont seem to have .

Thank you for all your help. I got him from my LFS and they didn't know exactly what he was either. I always assumed coris, but a more definitive id would be great!

I would guess it's a Halichoeres chloropterus female.

Hopefully Lemon Lemon will respond he has the bible of wrasse books.
