I love this Paly!

A friend of mine (clkwrk) found this one awesome paly - and did everything to grow it out. Its orange, with a blue skirt and blue speckles. He grew it into two colonies (took him a couple years) and I bought them both when he took a hiatus from the hobby. I put one high and one low - here is what the high one turned into. Its really cool in person

Here are a few pix of his - they REALLY change depending on the light.

Those were in the middle of his tank and this was at the bottom of his tank, which is what the colony at the bottom of my tank looks like also. I think I'll keep the one up really high and see what happens, and move the lower colony to the middle to get the brigher orange and blue

Thanks guys. Yeah I have PD's and NG's and the skirts look similar. I took the full light colony off rock and laid him in the sandbed next to the other - and I noticed the skirt was REALLY blue compared to the low light one. When it was semi-closed, the zoox more condensed it looked a really cool shade of blue. I moved it back up to see if I can get the blue to come out even more. Its only been under the MH for a few weeks.

Here is a pic side by side, you can see which one is getting more light!

On this pic in the top left you can see the speckles forming inside the skirt - they're like a bright, metallic blue.

This kind of shows the silvery metallic on the outsides of the skirt. I'm a horrible photographer.

thanks guys. jayreefer - we'll just trade something man, no worries. hey did i give you some solid reds? man i got a colony back in the day from anthony at aquadesignz, and i gave a bunch out. i got rid of most my "normal" zoas but i did find a small frag of those. i don't think i've seen them elsewhere - did you get them and grow them out - solid reds?

i'll frag these eventually, maybe for some trades but i think i should let them grow out for now. i've got a lot of requests but right now i wanna see what kinda color i can get out of them.

You should start the new paly fade, they would probably be more popular than PD or NG. I would pay 25/polyp if this were the new hit thing.
