I need an Idea

I have a 4" crocea clam that it's been on the sand at the LFS burried, when I got it the clam it's attached to a cone shape shell, I was planning to place a flat rock under so it can attach and the move it up on the rock but with this shell there is no way I can do that, so for now it's on the bottom fully open and it's burried again. My question is how can I remove that shell or shoud I just leave it there? Thanks guys.

IMO a fully openned, non-gaping clam is a happy clam. I'd leave it be. I have had several clams that just never behaved the way I thought they should - inconveniently turning away from my view, burying themselves, tipping sideways.... :D When I let them be, they grew and prospered.....hmmm...probably a lesson in their somewhere

Thanks, what I did is I got a large flat rock and drill a hole so the shell can go in, so far seems happy I saw the foot last night so I thinks he is trying to attach :)
