well most of the tanks stablize at about 8.0 but I always look for my magical 8.3 so I tweek stuff, I guess if 8.0 isn't all bad I'll just leave well enough alone.
You can always hit the chemistry forum. They give great advice there. But honestly I wouldn't sweat 8.0. Just as long as night/day difference isn't big. You will see as your tank settles, it will naturally raise. I checked today and mine peaked at 8.2 but averaged 8.1.
Well I went ahead and put the clams in and my aunts bought some corals for the 90 thats not quite ready yet so they are in there and everything looks well enough.
