I bought the healtiest looking foxface rabbit you ever did see, I thought. Until It wouldn't eat and it's fecal matter looked like he was passing a slimmy almost clear worm. Very mucusy. Not the tipical thin clear kind . This was thick and I really thought it was a worm till I netted it and examined. No I didn't quarantine and it's too late now.please don't say those 2 little words your thinking, I know. Anyway upon trying to look up what this might be, the only thing I can find that matches the disciption is is Hexamita. Is this a salt water disease? He was in the tank for 3 days and I just caught him. What do you guys think this is? And how do you treat it?

I posted there also. Doesn't ANYONE have any idea what this is and how to possibly treat it. I really don't want to lose the fish.

I would start feeding nori soaked in selcon/garlic to try to purge its gut. I have one, and they are pretty hardy fish. Thera pellets from New Life Spectrum should also help.
As to what it is???--stress maybe--stress induced parasitical flare up. You could QT and treat w/ PraziPro soaked nori.
Foxes get stressed just by someone walking by the tank, they usually settle down after a week or so and start eating.

it may have been fed rotten food in the store. sounds like its got diarrhea. give it a day then see if it will take shrimp. feed it lots of shrimp (roughage) if it will eat it.
