I think I messed up?

Plus you can also claim that live rock is used to displace water which actually does. So you might have a 90 gallons tank, but with all the live rock the actual water is much less.

Haha, thats actually pretty good. If the 40g limit is due to water damage from a spill, well you have less water than a 90g. Most people cant judge volumes of water anyway, it shouldnt be hard to talk around it.

I would not lie about it, I mentioned not to voluntarily say how big it it as non fishkeepers don't know. However, to clarify my previous post, I'd tell the correct gallons if asked and work it out from there.

Hopefully, they will just come through with their "general inspection" and see that you are the type of tenant they want to keep.

Good Luck!

Most likely if your a good tentant and been one the whole time. She will let you slide on it. I have had numerous tanks and pets that were Demed unacceptable to the apt complex at a few different complexes. The Upper management knew about them all and I never had to pay any extra or get rid of said pet. At one complex we had a change of management and they did the old inspection and called me on my pets. I simple told her to see how long I had been a tentant and that was how long I had the pet. Then reminded her my apt was prolly in the top 10% of the cleanest and best kept. She just asked I didnt let any of the other Tentants see my pet and that this would never be brought up again.

Just cuz im sure I will be asked the pet I am refering to is a 8 ft Red tail boa. Not a big deal to me but a bid deal to some.

Well no note, no phonecall, so assuming the inspection went ok (forgot to set some kind of booby trap to notify me if anyone entered! :D ).

However with Ike moving in, they might have been too busy. I've got 40 gallons of RO for drinking (and emergency tank water), food, cash, and my spare computer UPS is on my tank (with a second one charged and ready to go).

Bring it to me Ike!!

Be safe and good luck with ike

the area iam in in oklahoma is perdicted to get 5-10 inches of rain from the remenants of the tropical storm that hit mexico and the remenants of ike over the next several days and its been staedy rain for the whole day sofar

Good luck! BTW how long will your computer UPS last on your tank? What do you plan to run on the UPS, pumps, heater, I would guess the lights would drain it pretty fast. Or just put an airstone in and run an air pump? Hopefully you won't need it!

Ill start out with the return/koralia's, worst case small air pump and the 4. If all that fails, ill just keep the cover off, a small battery operated fan on it, and a water change.

I figure ill run power up until it goes out (if it goes out), and hopefully be no more than 3 days without power. I think the tank should be fine.

I'll keep everyone posted. A few of my co-works had to evac their families today, but my zip is listed as optional. However if you see a guy on the news floating down the street hugging a fish tank, that will be me!

Nowell

Lying to someone creates great karma. :rolleye1: Do you think these people are stupid? This is their business, they deal with crazy tenants all day. Their lawyers write the lease to address past experiences. The chose 40 gallons for a reason. It's not a matter of how responsible one tenant is--it's a matter of what's in the lease. If you want to keep whatever you want, buy a house.

well if you believe in karma then you got a point.
But lying about the gallons in a tank isn't going to harm anyone. So I'd rather live with some bad karma, that take apart a 90gallon tank move out.

nowell, hope your ok there in Houston, things look bad on the weather channel. Do let us know as soon as you can that you are safe. It looks like you may not have power there. Good Luck!

Thanks for the concern guys I am in what is considered North houston, actually The Woodlands is my exact area. If they show a map it will be between Conroe and Houston. I am ruffly 60 miles-ish from the coast. We have supplies to last a few days and my tank only has a fish and 3 emrald crabs. So I am hopeing we wont have a lose of anything.

Its about 8:20 pm here and the weather is a bit windy no rain all day. Its Gusty but to give you an example I have Direct Tv and its on top of my Two story home and I still have a good strong Singal without it Fadeing out from cloud or wind. The news is good at tring to make you panic.

I wish those who are closer to the gulf luck and hope all is well. Where I am at I think my family and Fish should be very well taken care of. I will try to post on here every few hours to keep you guys posted if anyone is interested.
