so i have two fish in a hospital tank today is day number 8. a small yellow/blue blenny and a lubbocks wrasse. i had a small ich problem which forced me to qt them. the water params in my qt tank have been fine no amonia no nit temp around 79-80 ph 8.2 -8.3 i have done three water changes the biggest just a few minutes ago when i noticed both fish struggling to breathe and the wrasse on the top of water sucking air. the tank is medicated with copper and prazi pro, the fish have been fine till just a few minutes ago, any advice or help please

do you have an extra powerhead, filter, or airstone you can use to add some extra aeration to the tank. That might help.

What is your Cu concentration? are you using cupramine or a different brand of Cu - both have different theraputic levels and both are toxic to fish beyond those levels. Unfortunately, you will need to check the Cu levels after each water change and adjust accordingly. What are you using for filtration in your QT? If I may ask, why are you using the prazi pro in conjuction with the copper?

In general you don't want to combine medications unless you are positive they won't have a negative interaction. I am unfamiliar with prazi pro and don't know how it would interact with copper or what the potential benfit of its use. I suggest you stop using prazi pro and consider more water changes using "mature" salt water.

Copper is "chemo therapy" .. too much kills the fish .. too little doesn't do any good. Make sure you have a good test kit and keep the proper concentration during the entire treatment period.

I suggest you read the ich sticky post at the top of this forum.

i am testing the cu levels and i did adjust ph level and the cu level before adding the new water, the prazi pro is for the wrasse which i also believe to have had the fluke, i have asked on many different forums and my very knoweldgeable lfs owner and all said they were fine to dose together.

ok now 24 hours later and the blenny is eating and looking mroe normal, the wrasse however is still hiding ina pvc pipe and not looking great, he is alive however, not very active and didnt want to eat anything yet. i will try to feed again a little bit, i am using garlic to help entice the fish to eat while in qt. thanks everyone for the help and advice i try very hard to never kill anything i have in any of my tanks, and strive to provide the best enviorment possible with that being said, i think it may just be the stress of being in a qt or a reaction to the medecine i am not sure, i hope they both pull through the three or 4 weeks left in the qt, any other advice or suggestions would be awesome thanks everyone
