Just wanted to share my experience because I was waiting for the Neptune Trident for a while and realized that I only tested ALK regularly so it didnt make sense to upgrade everything and keep waiting. I was VERY skeptical about the accuracy of the Alkatronic since it seemed like a bit of a science experiment. $900 later I spent about 2 hours carefully assembling and calibrating the device which seems daunting at first but isnt a big deal. Just a tip, get a $12 jewelry scale on amazon because measuring by weight makes measuring test reagent way more accurate. I use it now even when measuring reagent for my hanna checker.
Right now, the Dkh measurement between the Alktronic and Hanna checker is within .1 Dkh. Since I travel for work its very reassuring to get regular updates on the Alk. I haven't integrated it with my Apex yet but that will be the next step.
Tank Parameters:
650 Gallon SPS Reef / 400 Gallon LSP/Soft Coral
14 Ecotech Radion G3's
Skimz 302 & Reef Octopus 7000 EXT Skimmers
Reef Octopus and Geo Calcium Reactors
Combination of Maxspect Gyre 280s and Ecotech MP60s
Following the WWC method for lighting and feeding.
