Understand this tank was setup April 21 and I’m just getting started again.
Aquarium size:
75 gallon (glass)

lighting:
24" coralife 2-65 watt lamps (day/night) 10k

8-10 lbs LR
30 lbs sand( not live)

Circulation:
koralia 400 gph

live stock:
3 yellow tail damsel
2 turbo snail

filtration:
aquarium life support system ( for up to 100 gallon) from the aquarium store in Knoxville.
Came w/drive pump 500 gph

skimmer:
sea clone 100

ammonia:0
nitrite:0
nitrate:0
calcium:400

The test kit I use is :
marine enterprises.
If anyone knows this kit, it is a little hard to really tell the color, is there any easier test kit out there?

Did my first water change Sunday, June 25, I use tap water to do so and to top off my tank? There is no chlorine in water and I do have a pad that removes phosphate and heavy metals.
will have photos on profile soon.

answer to 24" light

joker. I also have a 48" light on this tank too, I think it's a 20 watt. plus I just have bought any other light yet.

Thanks
Donna

Salifert makes pretty user friendly test kits... :)

I would check the water you're using for top offs with a TDS meter... That should help you out on determining whether its safe to use or not... A lot depends on what source your tap is coming from... It pays to invest in a RO/DI unit sooner rather than later... But it might be fine for the time being... ;)

Looking forward to your pics... You started your tank on the day Ashley and I got married... :D

hey.. if you dont mind transporting water, you can get r/o water from me until you get your unit. just let me know a day in advance, so i can have it made up for you. it would be alot better for your tank to use r/o water.

Thanks for the tip. you guys are still, honeymooners. I did check with the city of Alcoa about the water condition and got a test report from them. I will be checking into a ro/di, but I’m only able to buy a little at the time.
Oh pix are on the profile now
Thanks
Donna

Some of us are too lazy to click on links so would never see your tank... (melly) ;)

Looks like you're off to a nice start... I like your stand... I must ask though, what's up with Tweety bird???

You might want to get a bit more Live Rock whenever you increase your bioload... And is your tank a bit cloudy or is it just the pics??? :)

You are so kind. And No, I don’t mind transporting water at all. I would just need to know where you live and it would need to be on a weekend for me to get the water. My husband is my chauffeur. Do to my arthritis I do not drive.

Thanks
Donna

Thanks. i didn't know how to post the pix. i use to to have a thing for tweety. he is holding a gun and it says here kitty kitty.
I know i need more live rock, just have to do a little at the time. the water was cloudy and a sea green color up till this morning. it has cleared up now.

The tank and stand was my first tank i bought 5 yrs ago, when i got back into FW. got the stand, tank, lot of decor, rock and hang on filter for $300.- when we live in St.Petersburg,Fl.

Ashley and I just got back from Weeki Wachee... We went down to Oldsmar while we were there... They have some nice LFS down that way toward St. Pete...

not saying any thing bad about your tank but u may have rushed putting a anemone in your tank. I cant tell what kind it is but if it is a condy the clowns wont get it.They might but it will be slim

I hope its a Condy and not a LTA... Its important to have adequate lighting to provide for Anenomes...

The clowns look good!!! :D

Yeah. I'm not sure what kind it is either. It just happens to come with the clowns.
I will keep you posted on how it goes.
Thanks

I think it's a condy. It really don't seem to like to much light. it has moved lower in the tank, and it seems to like when the day lights go out at night.

Thanks
Donna

I had a condy eat several of my fish in my last tank. I have never had one again...I have an LTA now but it is under halides....

I have an extra ballast and reflector for a 250 watt setup if you are intersted
