Ich Attack vs. Carbon Question?

I have a PowderBrown Tang. He has accumulated ich. I have started dosing Kordon's "ich attack" for about 4 days now adn the ich looks to have gone away already!

My Question is...

On the back of the ichattack bottle, It says to take the carbon out of the filter prior to use.

What does the Carbon do that makes the ichattack not work? Or I guess a better way to put it is, why is this bad with carbon?

Also - Does ChemiPure have alot of carbon in it?

The carbon will filter out the chemicals in the Ich Attack. It may look like the ICK is going away but it's way too early to tell.
