Ich Carriers...Treat or Sacrifice?

My DT was hit by ich for the first time in more than 20 years. I went through all the steps to deal with it...removed all the fish from the DT and treated them with copper in a HT. After running the course of treatment and leaving the DT without fish for more than 12 weeks I put the two survivors back into the DT. Note that throughout the outbreak neither of the survivors (Bangaii Cardinal & Lyretail Anthias) showed any sign of infection.

As it so happens, I also had a CBB in QT that I'd recently acquired and was preparing to add to the DT when all this started. Needless to say, I left the CBB in the QT throughout and only added it to the DT after it had been without fish for 12+ weeks.

Well, now the CBB appears to have ich and my guess is that the two surviors of the original attach are carriers. I'm not sure how else the ich would get back in the tank as I added NOTHING to the tank but the CBB (which was healthy), food and clean water. No fish have been added...nothing but the CBB, food and water changes.

So the question is, as I begin the order of treating the ich again, do I try treating the suspected carriers for a second time or do they get sacrificed for the greater good? I'd rather not send them to their doom but at the same time if they're carriers and can't be fully cured, I'm not sure I have much choice.

Thoughts and suggestions?
