Just noticed the clownfish are spotty so I am in a mad rush to get a qt set up. Once it is up what are some products that work well to combat this. I only have three fish in my display and to be quite honest I haven't seen the goby in a week but not to worried about him.
 
That stinks. I have read the recommended time for running your display fallow after ich is at least 9 or 10 weeks. I hope it isn't ich.
 
Get a good pic of the fish and post it on the fish disease forum. They'll be able to tell you if it is ich and not brook.
 
Don't hold me to this, but aren't clowns more susceptible to oodinium. Might want to confirm before treating.
 
yikes this is rough. This probably doesn't help but the fish has been laying in the sand and is real lethargic but when I come up to the glass is starts swimming again. Only thing I can think of that changed is Michael Tangelo (tomini tang) kicked the bucket the other day. It looked super stressed out like something was picking on it ("brusing" on its side and discolored)
 
Copper is best, frequent water changes in QT to keep water good. Add copper to new water prior to replacing water in QT to keep levels up. Get a test kit to keep copper levels where they need to be. At least 10 weeks fallow for display i would do 12.
 
Like I said have no problem keeping tank fallow however if the diamond goby is alive I will not be able to get him out without tearing everything apart (which I would rather not do). Is this going to be a huge problem
 
You definitely have to figure out what the disease is first to treat properly. Brook is real common with Clowns but if your Tang and other fish were showing a lot of signs of stress or disease, it could easily be ich. With ich you can go hypo salinity or use copper (I am not a big fan of). With Brook you will want to dip.

I am a big fan of feeding (3 times per day) with both garlic and/or selcon when my fish are showing signs of ich to help them fight off the disease.
 
Thanks Dan....they are going into qt tonight where it should be easier to get a pic of them. Not sure if I can swing 3 times a day I can do morning and evening and probably a little snack before I can go to bed. I will try to post pics later on this evening and maybe ya'll can help a little bit more.
 
same here, my two mocha showed signs so they went straight to QT, using copper treatment keeping copper between 1.5 and 2, change at least 1-2 gallons of water every day to keep ammonia down(only have about 6 gallons in a 10gallon tank for the qt so 1-2 gallons is a decent water change) They spots dissapeared after a few days but will be leaving them in QT for the full recommended term. Try to feed both the QT and DT with the NLS thera A or the ocean nutrition formula two which both have garlic and other helpful additives in it.

The firefish I got from the same store is perfectly fine.

And Im in the same boat with feedings, work 8 hours a day so I can drop a few pellets in the morning but not again till 5:30 or so...
 
This is why you QT new fish before you add them........
Cupramine works great.
But now you have to leave your DT without fish for at least 8 weeks or treatment is pointless.
 
My advice is to come get a seeded sponge from me for your QT and start Cupermine ASAP. Yeah that goby has to come out.
