ICH?? i have pics

so my mccosker's wrasse has started to get white spots. i'm thinking its ich. but i have some questions. during acclimation he jumped out of the container and was on the carpet for maybe a minute. after acclimation i put him in the tank and noticed it looked like he scratched his eye. could the spots be from the carpet?

i have a little more to add. the fish isn't showing any other signs of ich....scratching, heavy breathing, pale colors. also i just went and checked on him and the spots dont seem as bad as this morning.

i know i should be QT'ing but i didn't. the fish is in my DT with -
1 yellow assessor
1 unarmed perchlet
1 green clown goby
1 lawnmower blenny
3 blue/green chromis

can i treat my whole system? i dont want to treat the wrasse only to have the other fish be sick as well.
i've heard that some medication's can be bad for inverts, i have a serpant star, peppermint shrimp and a crocea clam. corals - a few lps, alot of softies.

this is my first sickness so i have no clue what to do. i really dont want to sound like a newb but i wanted to get some opinions.

the ruby reef "kick ich" will sometimes suppress the ich long enough for the fishes immune system to catch up and fight off the ich. it is not generally recommended to treat anything in the dt though.

i've been doing alot of reading on ich since yesterday, looks like i'm going to be getting a hospital tank set-up. anybody have recomendations on which brand of medicine to use?

for fish i would go with coppersafe in a qt tank. alot of times its not needed. just garlic soaked food and clean water can heal the fish. hypo is another method if you have a refractometer.

i have a refractometer, but i heard hypo should be left to the more experienced. i've had a reef for almost 3 years, but i've never had any sick fish until now, so i never really read up on sickness. i think i'm going to get another 20L and put all the fish in it for 8 weeks. during this time i'm going to treat for the ich. should i treat for anything else while they're in the hospital tank...worms, ect....?

I've used Seachem Cupramine couple of times but it really requires 30 days of treatment.

Hypo is way too easy to do.

Hypo - less stress and almost always effective - can always go copper route if you observe ich still after the hypo treatment.

1.009SG BUT take at least 1-3 days to acclimate the fish down to 1.009. Don't just throw it in from the 1.025 or wherever you keep your salinity.

butterfly's usually dont tolerate that low of salinity so be carefull if you have any

Hmmm, that's a new one. I've had a couple copperbands thru hypo no problems at all. I'm sure others have had no problems with butterflys in hypo.

Maybe someone will confirm that with facts in the near future I hope.

i did not say that butterflys couldnt survive hypo. i said they dont do well in hypo. nice edit

im sure every experience is different. i have had a couple that didnt. either way i would be cautious since they are less tolerant then alot of the hardier fish. im not trying to create a debate, just putting it out there so he doesnt loose a 40.00 fish

try feeding them and give it some vitamin c to boost their immune system,just a suggestion
