Ok so far feeling kind of depressed. Seeing that my fishes may not last too long was wondering how to set up a QT, do I take the ich infested water and dilute it or do I make a fresh batch of salt water and lower the salinity to 1.09? And after a fish has been QT do I raise the salinity in the QT? And after that do I have to reacculamate the fishes, since the QT water is new and the ST is old water that has been let say I wait a month or two. How should I bring the new fishes over? Thanks for the help, I feel Hypo was the right path from the start but thought that cupramine would be easier since no extra tank needed. But it seems cupramine isnt working for me and it feels more like a hassal.

Read some of the above posts there very helpfull, you can use the water from your display tank to start your QT tank. Slowly decrease the salinity in the QT if you do it to fast you will kill the fish. If you read above it will tell you what you need. GL

Hmm was wondering is it possible to use a 5 gallon bucket for small fishs as a qt tank, is it ok to buy a new fish and put it in a 5 gallon bucket with heater, pump and some pcp pipes?

Lets say I buy a fish and it has its own water thats at 1.25 salinity can I use that water if I dont have cycled water set up for a QT. My ST water seems jacked up, so my question is, is it ok to use that 1.25 salinity water that came with the fish and than lower its salinty to 1.09 at the sametime. Thanks for the support everyone.
