I purchased a six line wrasse at the lfs 3 days ago. I noticed that the next day it had a few white spots on it. I'm assuming it is Ich. Parameters are fine now that i did a 10% change. during the day it seems like the ich goes away and then a few spots at night. I don't understand. The temp is 80 and i bought a qt tank today. I added the water from my 45 into the qt. Salinity in 45 is .024 and qt tank is .022. i basically don't know what to do.

Should i be taking one of the bio filters and puting it into the filter in the qt tank and raising the temp to 80.

slowly drop the salinity to what

and add the ich meds.

just QT the fish period. the transfer from one tank to another is stresfula nd it is normal for fish to get sick. thats why you should always QT the fish 3-4 weeks before adding it to your maint tank.

use biomedia from your main tank, throw in some PVC tubing for a place to hide, put a heater in there if you havent alreay, with another thermometer, shade the tank's sides to reduce stress, cover the tank and do water changes weekly.

Dont use any meds unless you have to. the fish is stressed out and its imune system isnt strong enough for it to fight off simple parasitic infections ( which are normal).
