Ich or Marine Velvet? Or WHAT?!?!

So my powder brown tang looks like this every few days. Some days shes beautiful, others she looks like this. At first i thought maybe it was ich, but it looks more like marine velvet to me. Today shes slow, not moving around much. I also have a spotted toby puffer who has some spots on his fins, and some discoloration but is acting normal. Both eat like beasts. ANY input would be very helpful. Please!:deadhorse:

If I had to take a guess I would say you have an Ich infected fish. I made the mistake of buying an angel fish that was really healthy, but too big for my QT tank. I added it to my 180 DT and in a week it was lost to ich. Lesson learned.

My 180 is now running fallow and all the surviving fish (which were showing no signs of Ich when I added the ange) are in a bigger 46 gallon QT tank being treated with Cupramine.

I would likely think if you dont remove and treat that fish it will go downhill at some point or at the very least any new additions will get sick too.

I tried to play the odds of not retarting the tank after a fallow period and lost.

As I expected the tang was dead this morning... I'll be getting a 29 gallon qt for my firefish, and spotted toby. The Toby has shown small spots on his fins every now
And then, but acts completely normal. Are puffers not affected by ich as bad as others?

I have had a blue spot toby puffer for 4 months. After a one month QT he went in the 180 with angel you see above. Even after I lost 5 fish in one day he never showed any Ich spots or coudy eyes. As fish around him were dying he was waiting for me to feed at the surface all day, every day.

I dont think puffers/tobys take well to copper so right now he is just chilling in a 20 gallon tank with LR, sand and calerpa while my 180 goes fallow.

I dont know if they are real hardy or what but he was the only fish in that system that never showed any symptoms.
