ich or velvet?

Hi guys is this ich or velvet?

hard to say but looks like ick on the fishes fins

Both is unlikely but, I guess possible. Ich is going to look like grains of sand sprinkled on the fish (actually it is under the skin) when it is visible which it not always is. Velvet is going to look more like powdered sugar. How long have you had this fish?

If you have had the fish for ten days and it has velvet, it should be going rapidly down hill. I cannot tell from the pictures, there are a couple where it appears to be velvet, none where it seems to be ich. But, my ability to diagnose from pictures is marginal at best.

All must be treated and the DT left fallow for six weeks. Did this fish come from a dealer/source that runs a low level (non-therapeutic) of copper?

I don't think they run copper. How long should I run cupramine at 0.5 for it to kill velvet ?
