i bought a pair of clown yesterday, i guess it was my fault that i didnt get a real close look at the fishes. when i get home, i acclimate the fish and put them in my tank with the light off. the next day i looked at the fish and noticed that 1 of them have ich. i was wondering, can ich comes up overnight? i called the store and they are positive that their ora clowns do not have ich. they wouldnt take my fish back but they would hooked me up with "marine max". does the product work to treat ich? they offer it to me because i dont have a qt to put the fish into. so these are my question:

1.can ich appears overnight?
2.will "marine max" cure my clowns?
3. do i need to set up an emergency qt? and if i do, how would i go about doing this and what i need to get to treat with.
4.will the ich spread if i left it in my tank while i try to set a qt up?

1. yes
2. never heard of it
3. if it is ich, you need to quarantine and treat ALL fish in your tank for 8 weeks. if it's ich, then it's everywhere in your tank (undetectable) and ALL fish are carriers. in order to treat it you must isolate the display tank for 8 weeks for any ich will die off, and treat the fish in a separate quarantine tank, either with copper or hypo salinity, etc.
4. the ich has a lifecycle of up to 8 weeks. with any fish in the tank, it will spread. you will need to leave the tank fishless (live rock, substrate, invertibre are okay) for the 8 week period.

good luck. ich sucks.
