ich please help!

i just bought a purple tang and didnt notice it before but it has the ich! i cant catch the thing to bring back to the pet shop. what should i do BTW i have lots and lots of corals, shrip, crabs all sorts of stuff that might not do well with a copper based treatment. THANKS

It may pull through w/ just good food. Try soaking seaweed in selcon/garlic and feed mysis. What other fish do you have?
You can try a fish trap.

From what I understand, no fish and the ich will be gone in 4-6 weeks.

Ich will subside after fish die because the ich needs a host; it can stay in the rock, sand, and coral, but not long. If you take this route, you still need to wait approx. two months before introducing any other fish into the DT. You can also try hypo salinity in your tank as long as you feel safe doing it with all the corals. Yes and no. If you let ALL the fish die and then go fishless for I think 60-90 days then all the ich will go away (someone correct me if I am wrong).

I wouldn't panic to much..I picked one up 3 weeks ago and came down with ich 2 days later,I just soaked the food in garlic and its slowly going away..keep in mind it may get worse before it gets better but there pretty tough and should make it through...good luck.

I think that no other fish in your tank will catch ich. If they are not stressed, I believe their slime coat will protect them from ich.

I suggest you catching him out wether you have to take out all your LR or corals. Don't want that nasty ich in your DT.

pull your corals, snails, shrimp, crabs and put them in a buket. Then hyp the main tank for 8 weeks. If you dont, you will have it forever. Its easy to get rid of, I dont understand why people do not do it and then complain about all the fish stores that have diseases and what not when they are no better!?
