ich quarintine

Today I noticed that my strawberry dottyback had a some white spots on his fins and a few (maybe 3) on his body. Almost positive it's ich. My question is should I quarintine all other fish in the tank as well? The only other fish I have in there right now is a pearly jawfish which i'm afraid might freak out in a quarintine tank with no substrate or rock.

If one fish has ich then it would be prudent to assume that all fish have ich. Many would advise you to QT and treat both fish with hyposalinity - if you leave your show tank without fish for about 5 weeks any ich within that tank should naturally die off.

Not very familiar with jawfish .. however, if they require a substrate then you can always add a substrate to your QT. While hospital tanks will run better without a substrate it should not interfere with hyposalinity treatment.

You should note that hyposalinity will kill off most of the infauna within live rock or live sand ... as such I would stick with new sand and avoid using live rock.
