can removing all fish from my tank kill the ich that exists in my tank.
im gonna move them to a qt tank.

Just pulling the fish out will probabley not remove the ich from the system. Kick Ich is reef safe and works really well. I used it in my NC28 without removing any of my corals, shrimps, crabs, or snails.

The display tank needs to remain fallow(fishless) for at MINIMUM 8 weeks to kill off the cryptocaryon(marine ich). 10-12 weeks is better if you can tolerate it that long. Also if treating via hypo method you should go at least 6 weeks past when you no longer see ich on the fish.

Crypto medications are a fallacy, none of them truly eradicate marine ich.

Pulling all the fish out for a period of 8 weeks will most certainly remove Cryptocaryon Irritans (aka marine Ich) from the display.

Very good decision, the benefits far outweigh the effort. The Crypt lifecycle will stop without a fish host. Basically, when the parasite makes its way to the free swimming stage (swimming around tank water after hatching) it needs to find a fish host within a few hours. If no host is available, the parasite will die, halting the lifecycle.

I like copper because I feel it's easier then hypo, but both are effective treatments, and will do the job.

Good Luck, let us know if you need any more help!

I also figured he didnt wanna QT for 2 months. I was giving him a quick fix for his fish. Plus most likely the Ich will be reintroduced into the system when he gets a new fish unless he sets up a QT.
