ich question

For some reason my heater messed-up last night and I had about an eight degree temp flucuation that caused my coral beauty to get ich, so I got a new heater and everything is stable again so should the CB get better now that every thing is stable. Or will I have to treat the tank, wich I really hate to do, I try to refrain for putting any unnatural chemical in I my tank if atall possible.

I've been using garlic for the past few days, with no notable results. so now that he has ich is it here to stay until I treat the tank or will it go away now that the tank is stable again?

This is what I used (see picture) I got a VERY small amount from my LFS and mixed it in with the food and feed them with it for 10days. The ich has not came back and the fish look great. The best part is it is not copper and it is reef safe... Not sure where you can find it at you only need a very small amount for the food probably like less the 1/8th of a tsp for 6+ ounces of food.

Ich was already present in your tank and it won't go away now. The only way is to go fishless for 6 to 8 weeks. I would personally just hope for the best if you have alot of fish. Otherwise, you need to QT for any new fish if you go the fishless route.

UV is not a solution imo. It only hits the free swimming stage. If you want to get rid of it, fishless for 6 to 8 is the only route. Your other fish need to be in hypo, copper, or what they call the bucket method where you swap water every so many days.

I've noticed garlic appears to help but really no one knows.

All tell you that medicine that I was in that picture worked perfect for my tank. I have used it twice now and it worked great both times. The best part is that you do not have to remove the fish from the tank and it treats every fish in the tank.

I found it here 25grams is $32 and it treats 500 to 800 gallons of water so it will last a while. It does say to treat the water but the person that I got it from says she treats the food because it works fast and better that way.

There has never been any proof any medication erradicates ich. If there was, they would be a rich rich man. Many people think something gets rid of ich but it really doesn't. Sometimes the fish fights it off and it doesn't appear on them again and sometimes they get worse. For the majority it gets worse. I don't QT so I deal with it. I haven't had an inch break out in a long time.

I can understand that, but I have personanly see 2 of my sick fish recover within 10 days from ich when I started using this medicine, so I'm sold. I know quite a few others in our local club that have also tried it and have had the same sucess as myself. The person that I got it from has been in the hobby for a long time and has a lot of experience with fish. When you look at the fish she has in here store they are all very healthy and active.
