Ok a fish in my main tank has ich. 2 other of my fish in my main tank have been scraping thier bodies against rocks. Im getting a medical tank setup tonight do I take all of my fish from my main tank and put them in the medical tank to treat them for ich or do i take the ones that are displaying wierd behavor? let me know asap

What method would you suggest to me on treating ich

Also how big should my medical/QT be is 10 or 12 enough?

Hi eashton,

You have to treat all your fish. scrathing/flashing can be signs of ICH too.

The best course of treatment will dependent on you. Hypo is personally the choice I would go with.

Copper is also effective, I would use Cupramine copper..

It also depends on the fish. scaleless fish can be more sensitive to copper that is one reason I would pick Cupramine.

Also make sure to keep up with water quality.

You did not say what kind of fish or how big they are and what size QT?
ammonia is something to watch for sure and make sure you siphon or take out any let over food esc.. as it can contribute to poor water quality very quickly.

My fish arnt big my angel is probably the bigest at 3.5 4inchs

2 clowns 1 wrase 1 damsel

Current infected fish is the basslet. Hes not looking so hot. Hes not swiming and didnt eat much at all lastnight he is on the bottum of the tank.

Depending on the LFS you should or you can order it.

If you go with hypo you gradually lower the salinity. Like over 48 hours or so.

Will a 12 gallon QT be good enough? And will fish die from being in the small confines of a 12 gallon? I have one angel 2 clowns 1 damsel and a sixline.

Do a Google search on "Stop Parasites"......It can be put right in the reef tank with no ill effects....It took 15 instead of the usual 5 days for a cure my fish had it so bad......That was 7 months ago & no reoccurances!!!!! Best customer service I ever experienced!!!!!......Good Luck!!!!
